Today’s Photoshop programs can correct many defects but a well composed photo is always best. Here are some tips to help you take a excellent photo of your car.

Don’t worry about the background.

We can remove all unwanted background. Don’t bother looking for a nice setting it will only be removed unless you ask for it not be.

Things to avoid if possible

Do not take the photos while parked on the grass. The green reflects up onto the side panels and bumpers. Do not park under a tree, power lines, light poles etc… it will be reflected onto the hood and roof. Take the pictures at dusk or dawn.

Use different angles

Don’t be afraid to take some shots laying on the ground or standing on a ladder. Different angles can produce some very nice shots.

Use a good digital camera.

This is probably the most important tip. Set your camera to take the highest quality possible as well as largest picture possible. The lower the count the better. Most digital cameras sold today will do a fine job; you don’t need to spend big bucks for a digital SLR. If you are using the camera on your cell phone it may work depending on the model. First thing we do when we receive your photos is analyze them to determine how well they will work when enlarged for print. If they wont look good we’ll tell you up front.

Wash your car

Wash your car, clean it’s windows, shine the tires. You get the idea.

Pick the right time of day to take your photo

Don’t photograph you car when the sun is directly overhead, this will wash out the color and create unwanted glare. The best time is at sunup or sundown.

Lights on

Try turning your Parking lights on you would be surprised what a difference it can make.
